How are you weeding out the small tog?? Can’t find any over 13” in the inlet
It's tough. When fishing offshore wrecks I go to larger baits, whole green crabs, half or whole white crabs. Sometimes it takes a lot of patience feeding the small ones. When the small critters are aggressive and thick it is very difficult as they just clean you off one bait after the next. Most likely there are too bigger fish in that spot. The millions of palm size tog at the inlet make it challenging.

Where are the tests that prove flouro is harder to see through the fishes eye than mono?? Or is this another marketing scheme for people to spend more money
No one can look through a fishes eye but we can use our own eyes. Fluoro has a similar refractive index as water. There was a time when we had a glass box in the shop with water and 10-12 different lines stretched vertical through it. It was obvious to the human eye that fluoro was mush less visible than other nylon or copolymer mono lines. In the thinner tests the fluoro was near invisible. With regards to fishing not all applications require fluoro and I catch plenty of fish routinely on affordable mono like Ande Premium and Triple Fish. Been using Ande my whole life and have lots of confidence in it. However there are times were light fishing with fluoro is the only way to get a bite. It has its time and place.

If you keep a saltwater aquarium the Spot is your friend. They're like one of those automatic vacuum sweepers that scoop up everything that hits the floor. Plus they're not aggressive.
Just caught a few spot right near the 72 bridge from shore. Pretty fun on light tackle! Now just to find some more numbers!
Of course the water warms, after I leave. 😅😅

There are kingfish on the surf and spot in the bay. For some spots stop in the shop.

Been see massive schools of spot and croaker In the backbay and some bigger fluke showing up in the back bay
Let's hope these spot and croakers stick around.

Thank you Greg! Caught one short fluke off the beach last night and 1 skate. did really good off the rocks in the inlet on Friday last week with 1 keeper and 6 shorts fluke. But heard the water got colder over the weekend. Did not seem to bad yesterday.

This is an excellent video. I've never seen your channel until now but the fact that your formulating intuition based on your experience and your observations, and harvesting this curiosity and asking questions when there are contradictions in your observations is an amazing mindset, it's a problem solving mindset and the onset to a very scientific one as well. And then you went even further and consulted experts and real scientists to try and connect your observations and theory and then went even further and shared all of your findings with the world. And then even gave tips on how to deal with the conditions which is amazing. That's really damn great take my damn sub, This channel should have a lot more views and subs

I saw hundreds of floating dead sea robins on the way out to barnegat reef Sunday
Id assume it was dead discard from a dragger. There have been a ton of sea robins in areas. I know the BL reef had a bunch a few days in a row. I caught a handful of jumbo sea robins in the bay the other day.

Caught a few border line keepers this weekend in the clear water
Seems like this year there have been a lot of board-liners for me too... 17.9 and 18 on the dot and 18.1's. One reason why I do not measure fluke or any species with a soft tape. I always go with the bump board.

Drift socks are one of the most vital fishing “tackle” that so many don’t use.
